it has been a fiery hot summer so far, so how better to celebrate its final weeks than with the warmest of all colors…
in china, red is the color of prosperity and joy. red flowers symbolize energy, vitality, life, and of course, love…which comes in part from the greek myth where aphrodite spills blood onto a white rose to try to help her wounded lover, adonis. in persia, it is a superstitious sign of bad luck if petals fall from a red rose that has been cut in an english garden. and in the 18th century, lovers forced to keep their feelings for one another secret used the red rose to communicate their love to each other…
