This is America, the land where anyone can get ahead? How have we become the land of privileged old white men, who profit at the expense of women and children and the less fortunate?

It brings to mind the words of Langston Hughes:

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
